Description: Abstract—Wireless networks in combination with image sensors open up a multitude of previously unthinkable sensing applications. Capable tools and testbeds for these wireless image sensor networks can greatly accelerate development of complex, yet efficient algorithms that meet application requirements. In this paper, we introduce WiSNAP, a Matlab-based application development platform intended for wireless image sensor networks. It allows researchers and developers of such networks to investigate, design, and evaluate algorithms and applications using real target hardware. WiSNAP offers standardized and easy-to-use Application Program Interfaces (APIs) to control image sensors and wireless motes, which do not require detailed knowledge of the target hardware. Nonetheless, its open system architecture enables support of virtually any kind of sensor or wireless mote. In a brief OFDM principles, while focusing on the OFDM system under different channel environments and different modes to achieve the error performance. Mainly include the OFDM system in additive white Gaussian channel, in the additive white Gaussian channel and multi-path interference of two different channel environment, the system BER performance, the latter of which also studied the system in a guard interval and non-protected BER performance comparison interval. The theoretical basis of the analysis, using MATLAB simulation, finally make a bit error performance analysis and comparison.

The only sensor reading used for the location estimation is the received signal strength indication (RSSI) as given by an RF interface, e.g.,Wi-Fi.Wireless signal strengthmaps for the positioning filter are obtained by a two-step parametric and measurement driven ray-tracing approach to account for absorption and reflection characteristics of various obstacles. Location estimates are then computed using Bayesian filtering on sample sets derived by Monte Carlo sampling. We outline the research leading to the system and provide location performance metrics using trace-driven simulations and real-life experiments. Our results and real-life walk-troughs indicate that RSSI readings from a single access point in an indoor environment are sufficient to derive good location estimates of users with sub-room precision.
